Feature Article Analysis 2 -

http://www.oliverjchiang.com/writ/Discovery%20022006%20-%20Lost%20article%20p1.jpgAnother Feature Article that personally I believe is quite simplistic and professional. The title “Getting Lost” clearly links in with the image and the article, while also being in the centre of the composition/page, a common place for a focal point as its bang in the middle which the eye usually look at first when something is in front of them. The Drop cap is a light colour but is visible enough to stand out in front of the plain the background, the main colours are black, yellow and white, a good combination of light to dark colours that breakup different parts of the article. The font is easy to read and is the only font used, it is used in different sizes but it’s mainly used for the article itself and would link to the front cover. There isn’t any advertisements of any companies or other shows except from Lost, the page is dedicated to just the one show with the photo portraying the actors with some text providing some information of what the awards have been won and what is further in the magazine that is to do with “Lost”. Each gutter leaves enough room so that each paragraph is easy to read and the guidance of the article is understandable too, furthermore the columns/paragraph are around 6-8 and aren’t containing essay worth of text, it’s all straight to the point and doesn’t contain un-necessary topics. This feature article looks good and is designed well, personally I’d choose another colour of than yellow but that’s just my opinion and the extra information on the awards won by “Lost” is very useful especially for advertising it and drawing In the audience.
